Deep Packet Inspection

Introduction

  

Multifunctional software solution it helps telecom operators and internet providers to analyze the network traffic and optimize usage of the network resources, to create new services for subscribers. SSG is based on DPI technology and consists of modules: 

  1. Quality of Service (QoS): Allows achieving a high output by the ability of DPI technology to classify all traffic by priorities, providing wider bandwidth to certain applications and protocols.
  2. QoE: Product responsible for gathering statistics and evaluating subscribers’ perception of services. DPI-based QoE metrics help to increase customer loyalty, monitor the network, and increase ARPU from each subscriber.
  3. BRAS/BNG : function for authorizing and terminating subscribers (DHCP, PPPoE, Static IP). This solution allows an ISP to control subscribers’ connection to the      Internet, apply policing and assign tariff plans for Dual Stack IPv4/IPv6.
  4. CGNAT: Allows a service provider to share a single public IPv4 address among multiple subscribers without affecting the quality of connection. Address translations without affecting P2P connections and online gaming thanks to Full Cone NAT technology.
  5. GUI – User-friendly control panel in your web-browser.

Why need DPI Solution

  •  Life view and stored traffic analysis showing overall traffic behavior which can classify per Application, IP, AS number, VLAN. 
  • Traffic control per IP, User, Application which you can limit or block any traffic, and based on this you can do BW savings between (15-20)% by blocking the backend application (like Widows update, Antivirus update, Android Update, ….. and any other application can be working in the backend) during the peak hours. 
  • Traffic prioritization, that can use this to give priority for high sense traffic like IPTV, VOD, VoIP. 
  • Detect, manage, and control line tethering and abuse subscribers. 
  • Technical and NOC team can use DPI reports to troubleshoot subscribers behavior.
